EYES LIKE MINE

Supported by Arts Council England, Eyes Like Mine is a verbatim play created in response to the suicide crisis in the North East of England.

Created with men from the N/E who had lost a brother or best friend to suicide, the blended verbatim words from the interviewees then created two fictional brothers from Jarrow: Max and Darren.

Eyes Like Mine is set to tour venues across the North of England, confirmed venues include Leeds Playhouse, Gala Theatre Durham and Laurels, Whitley Bay.

Audience feedback below:

“The verbatim approach was really effective and powerful- important and vital stories to be told.”
“Very thought-provoking and intense, relevant to our times….excellent.”
“Absolutely authentic… the story and the relationship between the performers…can’t wait to see the full staging.”
